Physical body

Emotions, feelings

It is in charge of creating and taking care of one's ego, abilities, transformation process and mind. here lies the ability to discriminate : see then judge (positively or negatively). Reflection, cartesian mental activity which allows one to think about a situation and find solutions as well as understand what happens around one and within one, take place in this chakra. One's dynamism and charisma are also influenced by this chakra. It distributes the energy throughout the body.

In good condition

With a well-developped 3rd chakra, one live a reflexive life. One can take decisions as one thinks is beneficial or harmful for oneself. One manages to understand the whys and wherefores of events. One also digests food and emotions properly, living it but (beforehands, during or afterwards) analysing it and reflecting about the link between the event itself and the emotional impact it has on one's life. Distributing the energy throughout the body, it regulates the body temperature. The importance of one's ego is not denied or fought against; one allows it to exist within healthy limits but does not get overwhelmed by it.

In poor condition

With a weak or unbalanced 3rd chakra, one lacks self-assertation. If one has not given one's ego some space, he becomes a victim, lives other people's life or gets overwhelmed by emotions. If one forgets to digest emotions thouroughly, by not allowing oneself to mentalise them, reflect on them and find strategies to avoid being shattered again, one can never face them and they get to dominate one. One's digestion of food becomes weaker and slower. An overly activated chakra, on the contrary, makes one's ego dominate one and self-importance erases all of one's other priorities. Emotions are then blocked by a mind that wants to and believes it can deal with everything on its own, which is obviously untrue, and effects are all the more spectacular when the dam is breached and the emotional load finally bursts out like a tsunami.

Symbols

To strengthen it

Start daring. Dare be yourself for yourself's sakes and assert yourself. Dare give your ego some space. If there ever was one harmful thing, Nature, the Universe, God or Life yould never have placed it in human beings. Ego is tool to be used. Same goes for the mind. Think, reflect, analyse your situation, your answers to your environment and the solutions you bring. Utilise the power and the noble force of your positively discriminating Ego.
